Walmart Inventory Update Not Showing? Trace the Feed to the SKU
Trace a Walmart seller-fulfilled inventory update from Activity Feed and Feed ID to the right SKU, fulfillment center, and inventory quantity.
Start with Seller Center’s Activity Feed and the Feed ID for the inventory update you submitted. Walmart’s activity-tracking guide says inventory changes receive a Feed ID and advises monitoring the dashboard even after an upload-complete message. That message is a starting point for checking the result.
This guide is for US Walmart Marketplace sellers managing seller-fulfilled inventory. Our recommended sequence is to trace one submission, inspect the affected SKU, confirm its fulfillment center, and verify the inventory record. Keep the submitted file or values beside you so every comparison refers to the same intended change.
01 Read the result behind the upload
Find the submission that matches your Feed ID. Record its status and inspect the errors associated with the affected SKU. Walmart’s Activity Feed instructions say selecting a number in the Errors column opens the corresponding SKUs and errors; an error report can also be downloaded.
Separate two questions in your notes: has the submission finished, and did this item succeed? An overall completion message cannot answer the second question on its own. For API submissions specifically, Walmart defines PROCESSED as finished processing and explicitly directs operators to check per-item results. The optional integration section below covers those API statuses. Walmart’s feeds overview explains that distinction.
Save the exact error wording before editing. Walmart’s guide recommends correcting the original feed or submitting a new feed containing the failed items. Our advice is to connect each correction to its error, so the next submission has a clear purpose.
02 Match the SKU and fulfillment center
Next, compare the submitted SKU with the item you are inspecting. Use the full identifier from the file or source system, rather than relying on a similar product name. Check your account and US marketplace context, then write down the intended fulfillment center alongside the quantity. This is Go Massive’s comparison routine.
Walmart’s individual inventory guide directs sellers to Catalog, locate the item, and choose More actions → Update inventory. The inventory screen asks for the fulfillment center and inventory counts. Use that item-and-location context to inspect the affected record, without submitting another change merely to test a theory.
If the location was recently added, check its setup before treating the quantity as the only issue. Walmart’s Seller Center bulk guide requires an existing fulfillment center and says to wait at least four hours after adding it before completing an Inventory template. That is a facility-setup condition for this workflow.
03 Verify the quantity in the inventory record
Once the SKU and location match, compare the submitted quantity with the corresponding inventory field. Record what you submitted, what you now see, and when you checked. A screenshot of the wrong location or a different quantity field cannot establish whether the intended update applied.
Keep storefront availability separate from the inventory-field comparison. Walmart’s bulk inventory FAQ explains that purchased units enter Reserved inventory until marked shipped. When Reserved and On hand are equal, the item appears out of stock on Walmart.com. A positive On hand value therefore does not, by itself, establish sellable availability.
For an edit made through the Walmart Seller app, its inventory guide identifies Catalog → item details → Inventory → Edit, with an On hand field for the fulfillment center. Compare that same center and field when reviewing an app change.
Our recommendation: if the value differs, preserve both records and inspect any later submissions from your team or connected system. Establish the sequence before sending another quantity. If it matches but the storefront concern remains, describe that as a separate availability question in the handoff.
04 Optional: trace an API integration
This section applies when software submits inventory through Walmart’s APIs. Ask the integration owner for the returned Feed ID and item result. Walmart’s Feed item status API uses includeDetails=true to return item-level ingestion results for supported feed types. Inspect the affected SKU’s result and errors, rather than stopping at the overall feed status.
The feeds overview distinguishes RECEIVED (accepted and queued), INPROGRESS (processing), PROCESSED (processing finished), and ERROR (the feed failed as a whole). Record the returned status before choosing a correction or further status check.
Then identify the actual feed type. Walmart’s bulk inventory API guide describes single-node inventory feeds using spec 1.4 in JSON or XML; omitting the optional ship node applies the update to the default virtual node. Multi-node MP_INVENTORY uses spec 1.5, JSON only, and requires ship nodes for each SKU. These format rules belong to those API feeds.
Have the owner compare the intended node with the inventory returned for that SKU and node. Walmart’s Inventory API overview documents retrieving inventory and updating quantities by SKU and ship node. Apply the specification for the integration’s endpoint; Seller Center templates and app edits follow their own instructions.
05 Leave a usable handoff
Go Massive recommends one troubleshooting record per affected SKU, location, and submission. Include:
- Account, US marketplace, submission time, and source: Seller Center, app, or integration.
- Feed ID when available, SKU, fulfillment center or API ship node, and intended quantity.
- Feed result, item result, exact errors, and the inventory field currently observed.
- Corrections attempted, later submissions checked, next action, and responsible owner.
After a correction, repeat the same SKU, location, and field comparison. Add the new Feed ID when one is returned, and keep the earlier result attached. Our suggested stopping point is a documented match between the intended change and the relevant inventory record, or a clearly owned unresolved discrepancy.
Use this record for the unresolved step, whether that means a focused correction, an integration investigation, or a support case. For help coordinating catalog and channel operations, explore Go Massive’s Walmart Management service.
Source access note: guidance was checked October 16, 2026. Activity Feed and individual-update details relied on official indexed excerpts because direct pages returned JavaScript shells; bulk FAQ answers were also excerpt-only. Developer documentation and the app guide were readable. Confirm current US instructions while signed in. The troubleshooting sequence and handoff are Go Massive recommendations.
